Our Father
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
I confess to almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts
and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have
failed to do;
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault
therefore I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth
peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,
we glorify you, we give you thanks for your
great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King,
O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father.

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontus Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the
Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with
the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven.
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the
Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under
Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and
glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and
apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you,
blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.

V Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love.
R Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. and you shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise
and ever to rejoice in His consolation.

O my God, I am very sorry that I have sinned
against you, because you are so good, with
your help I will not sin again.

Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts
which we are about to receive from your
goodness. Through Christ our Lord.

We give you thanks for all your gifts,
almighty God, living and reigning now
and for ever.

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,

to light and guard, to rule and guide

R That we may be made worthy of the
promises of Christ.
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord,
Thy grace into our hearts,
that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord.

V Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.
R And let the perpetual light shine upon them.

V And may the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your  intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

 

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy;
hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy towards us;
and after this our exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb,
Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R That we may be made worthy of the
promises of Christ.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour;
for he has looked with favour on his
lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call
me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

righteousness,

God, in Baptism you called me by name
and made me a member of your people,
the Church.
Help all your people to know their vocation in life,
and to respond by living a life of holiness.
For your greater glory and for the service of
your people,
raise up dedicated and generous leaders
who will serve as sisters, priests, brothers,
deacons, and lay ministers.
Send your Spirit to guide and strengthen me
that I may serve your people
following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ,
in whose name I offer this prayer.
Amen.
Dear Jesus, help me to spread your fragrance
everywhere I go;
Flood my soul with your spirit and life;
Penetrate and possess my whole being so
completely
That all my life may be only a radiance of yours;
Shine through me and be so in me
That everyone with whom I come into contact
May feel your presence within me.
Let them look up and see no longer me
-but only Jesus.
Amen.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be
consoled, as to console:
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Virgin most holy and immaculate,
to you, the honour of our people,
and the loving protector of our city,
do we turn with loving trust.
You are all-beautiful, O Mary!
In you there is no sin.
Awaken in all of us a renewed desire for holiness:
May the splendour of truth shine forth in our
words, the song of charity resound in our
works, purity and chastity abide in our hearts
and bodies, and the full beauty of the Gospel
be evident in our lives.
You are all-beautiful, O Mary!
In you the Word of God became flesh.
Help us always to heed the Lord’s voice:
May we never be indifferent to the cry of the
poor, or untouched by the sufferings of the
sick and those in need;
may we be sensitive to the loneliness of the
elderly and the vulnerability of children,
and always love and cherish the life of every
human being.
You are all-beautiful, O Mary!
In you is the fullness of joy born of life with God.
Help us never to forget the meaning of our
earthly journey:

May the kindly light of faith illumine our days,
the comforting power of hope direct our steps,
the contagious warmth of love stir our hearts;
and may our gaze be fixed on God, in whom
true joy is found.
You are all-beautiful, O Mary!
Hear our prayer, graciously hear our plea;
May the beauty of God’s merciful love in Jesus
abide in our hearts, and may this divine beauty
save us, our city and the entire world.

Act of Veneration to the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Spanish Steps on the
occasion of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception (8 December 2013).

Mary, woman of listening, open our ears; grant
us to know how to listen to the word of your
Son Jesus among the thousands of words
of this world; grant that we may listen to the
reality in which we live, to every person we
encounter, especially those who are poor, in
need, in hardship.
Mary, woman of decision, illuminate our
mind and our heart, so that we may obey,
unhesitating, the word of your Son Jesus; give
us the courage to decide, not to let ourselves
be dragged along, letting others direct our life.

Mary, woman of action, obtain that our hands
and feet move
“with haste” toward others, to
bring them the charity and love of your Son
Jesus, to bring the light of the Gospel to the
world, as you did.
Amen.

Prayer to Mary at the conclusion of the recital of the Holy Rosary
(Saint Peter’s Square, 31 May 2013).

Mother, help our faith!
Open our ears to hear God’s word and to
recognize his voice and call.
Awaken in us a desire to follow in his footsteps,
to go forth from our own land
and to receive his promise.
Help us to be touched by his love, that we may
touch him in faith.
Help us to entrust ourselves fully to him and to
believe in his love, especially at times of trial,
beneath the shadow of the cross,
when our faith is called to mature.
Sow in our faith the joy of the Risen One.
Remind us that those who believe are never alone.
Teach us to see all things with the eyes of Jesus,
that he may be light for our path.
And may this light of faith always increase in us,
until the dawn of that undying day which is
Christ himself, your Son, our Lord!

Encyclical Lumen Fidei (29 June 2013).

 

Mother of silence, who watches over the
mystery of God.
Save us from the idolatry of the present time,
to which those who forget are condemned.
Purify the eyes of Pastors with the eye-wash of
memory:
Take us back to the freshness of the origins, for
a prayerful, penitent Church.
Mother of the beauty that blossoms from
faithfulness to daily work,
Lift us from the torpor of laziness, pettiness,
and defeatism
Clothe Pastors in the compassion that unifies,
that makes whole; let us discover the joy of a
humble, brotherly, serving Church.
Mother of tenderness who envelops us in
patience and mercy,
Help us burn away the sadness, impatience
and rigidity of those who do not know what it
means to belong.
Intercede with your Son to obtain that our
hands, our feet, our hearts be agile: let us build
the Church with the Truth of love.
Mother, we shall be the People of God, pilgrims
bound for the Kingdom.

God, source of all life, through our Baptism
you have gifted us with a mission to share with other people our knowledge and love of You.
Through this ministry may we as the priestly
people of God enrich all with whom we come in contact and become examples of Christ the Servant.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Romans 5:5

God of Graciousness, we thank you for gifting us with our beautiful child.
Help us now as we prepare to present our child (name…) for the Sacrament of Baptism.
This Sacrament will begin the process of
Initiation into the community of the Church.
Give us the gifts of Knowledge and
Understanding so that we may faithfully
answer the call of Christian parenthood and
nurture the gift of Faith in (name…)
in the years ahead.

God, creator of all,
On the day of the Baptism of our child
We committed ourselves to sharing our faith
with our child.
Help us now as we walk with our child  through the preparation for the Sacrament of Penance,
the first reception of Holy Communion
and the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Help us to guide gently, to inspire lovingly, and to educate soundly.
Through example, may we bring our child to
know you more fully,
to love you more dearly and to honour you in
all things throughout the journey of life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Loving God
In your bounty you have given us
our beautiful child
We chose to ask for Baptism
Now we commit ourselves to continuing
to assist our child in the Journey of Faith.
Help us as we guide our beautiful child
in preparation for the reception of Jesus in
Holy Communion.
Sustain us in our role as parents
Gift us with Wisdom and Knowledge so that our child will grow in love and understanding
of the Sacrament soon to be received.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Holy Spirit,
Grant me the grace of Wisdom
to guide my child along the best path of life.
Gift me with fear of the Lord, to help my child
know God’s glory and majesty and live in the
Christian way.
Enable me to lead my child to a sense of
fortitude for the greatness of your love.
Show me how to instil in my child a sense of
piety for all things holy.
Help me to understand childish ways so that
my patience and counsel may be enduring.
Give me the grace of knowledge when
decisions need to be made.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Gracious God, I come before you in prayer.
I ask you to help me grow in my relationship
with you so that I may recognise and
understand the calling | hear within me.
Help me to discern the best way I can
journey toward following Jesus.
Give me the Grace to respond to the promptings of your Spirit within me and at
the appropriate time give me the courage to
move forward to become a member of the
Catholic Community through Celebrating the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
I ask this of you, Gracious God, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

 

Creator God, you have made us in your own
image and likeness,
and through our Baptism have raised us to be your sons and daughters.
We ask you to help us as we seek to enable
these people to come to know you. Help us to faithfully share our Faith with them.
Through the Holy Spirit increase in us the gift
of Wisdom
so that we may bring these people to know,
love and serve you as Baptised members of
our Faith community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Creator God, you have made us in your own

Parents in our parish community wish to fulfil
the commitment they made at the time of
their child’s Baptism.
We, as Sacrament facilitators, have undertaken to assist them in this important task.
Through our Baptismal calling may we be
disciples of Christ, as we faithfully support
and guide these parents and children in this
important step in their faith journey.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Jesus,
when I am feeling mean and selfish,
help me to be kind;
when it is hard to do the right thing,
give me strength:
when it would be easy to say the wrong thing,
help me to be truthful;
when it is hard to be happy,
help me remember that you suffered too;
when things make me upset,
calm me down and remind me how much You love me;
when I’m told to do something,
help me to be cheerful not grumpy;
and remind me always that you are the
Sunshine in my life.
I love you Jesus.

Jesus, my friend … is sick. When you were here on earth you cared for the sick people.

Please make …. better so that we
can play together again.

Bless all those who love and care for me,
especially …. …. ….
Show them how much You love them.

Jesus, when you were a little child you
learnt to do all the things that I have to
learn. Please help me to do my best as I
learn these things.

Jesus, when my day is ended, give me a
good night’s sleep so that when I wake I
may be able to enjoy everything you’ve
given me.

Thank you Jesus for making me, me. Help
me always to love you.

Thank you God for this beautiful world.
Help me to take care of the earth and all
the things in it.

Guardian Angel, help me to always try to
do sensible things that keep me safe.
Thank you God for my Guardian Angel.

Jesus, I know that You fed the hungry
people when you were on earth. Thank
you for giving me food to keep me
healthy. Please help us to provide food for
all the people of the world who have no
food.
